Ever wanted to be treated like royalty?

Arielle Armenti, graduating senior from Washington Township High School, was given the royal treatment as winner of the “Queen for A Day” contest. I originated the idea for “Queen for A Day” last year, but this year we were able to see my vision come to fruition. Several professionals from the area collaborated to put together the Queen for A Day Contest. The winning package included Hair and Makeup by Bernard’s Salon at their new B2 Salon locations; Prom dress provided by Dare Boutique; a brand new smile from Dr. LaDerrick Bullock, prosthodontist, of South Jersey Center for Advanced Dentistry; and a photo shoot with me, Jack Saady.

The Chairville School of Medford sponsors a physical education initiative called Cheetah Runners. Two or three days a week during recess, the children of the Chairville School run a predetermined track around the school that is about 1/4 mile. If the children run 4 laps during their recess (approximately one mile), they get to earn a toe tag. After 20 toe tags (about 5 miles) they earn even bigger rewards! The amount of laps run is recorded and each grade competes with each other to see who can run the most miles.

The children have fun, get exercise, show determination, and sometimes they just are simply exhausted (see below).
